We offer a well-rounded curriculum that integrates Biblical teachings with core academic subjects. From the Foundation Phase through to the Senior Phase, students engage in a personalized learning experience that emphasizes mastery, critical thinking, and character development. 

The school follows the Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) program, ensuring students progress at their own pace while developing a strong academic foundation and godly character. With a focus on both academic and spiritual growth, students are well-prepared for future academic pursuits and life challenges.

Early Learning (Foundation)

Grade R-3 provides a solid educational start for young learners, focusing on building skills in literacy, numeracy, and social development.

Primary School (Intermediate)

Grade 4-6 introduces more advanced subjects with a continued emphasis on language development, critical thinking, and personal growth.

High School (Senior/FET)

Senior phase offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to prepare students for both further education and life beyond school.

Foundation Phase (Grade R - 3)​

Our Pre-School/Foundation Phase is built upon the ACE curriculum, which provides a strong start for young learners. We focus on the development of foundational literacy and numeracy skills through a multisensory, phonetic-based approach.

Key Areas:
    • Word Building: Introduction to phonetics and early reading.
    • Mathematics: Basic math concepts like number recognition and simple arithmetic.
    • English: Beginning reading and writing through phonics and picture association.
    • Social Studies: Introduction to community, family, and the world around them.
    • Science: Exploring the natural world through simple experiments and observations.

Our ACE PACEs ensure children receive an engaging, interactive experience that encourages a love for learning. The use of ABC Audio Songs, flashcards, and animal stories also enhances their educational journey.

Intermediate Phase (Grade 4 - 6)

The Intermediate Phase offers a more structured approach to education, focusing on building essential skills across various subjects. The curriculum is designed to develop critical thinking, creativity, and personal responsibility, while still nurturing spiritual growth through Christian values.

  • Key Areas:
    • Mathematics: Building upon foundational math skills with more complex operations.
    • English: Strengthening writing, reading comprehension, and vocabulary.
    • Afrikaans or isiZulu: Introduction to new languages to promote multilingualism.
    • Social Studies: Expanding knowledge of history, geography, and current events.
    • Science: Hands-on learning with a focus on biology, chemistry, and earth sciences.
    • Technology: Introduction to computer skills and basic coding concepts.
    • Life Skills: Focus on health, physical education, and personal development.

Comprehend Africa: All of the above subjects are available in both online and printed format. This program provides a comprehensive, values-driven curriculum.

Senior Phase (Grade 7 - 9)

The Senior Phase designed to prepare students on academic mastery and the development of life skills necessary. Students in this phase are guided readiness for their final years while being grounded in their Christian faith.

  • Key Areas:
    • Mathematics & Math Literacy: Advanced concepts in algebra, geometry, and statistics.
    • English: Focus on advanced writing, literature analysis, and critical thinking.
    • Literature & Creative Writing: In-depth study of classic and modern literature.
    • Natural Sciences & Social Sciences: Broadening understanding of biology, chemistry, physics, world history and earth science.
    • Life Orientation: Preparing students for personal success, career choices, and further education.
    • Technology
    • Economic and Management Sciences (EMS)

Comprehend Africa: All of the above subjects are available in both online and printed format. This program provides a comprehensive, values-driven curriculum in subjects such as Economic and Management Sciences (EMS) & Technology.

ACE PACEs are customized to meet the individual ability of each learner, allowing them to progress when they fully master a subject. Alongside the ACE system, students are provided with Career Development Mentor Training, psychometric assessments, and Map4Life tools to guide their future decisions.

FET Phase (Grade 10 - 12)

The FET Phase at Calvary Christian School is designed to prepare students for the future, offering multiple pathways to complete high school education, either through national or international qualifications.

  • Exit Routes:

    • Students can earn a South African National Senior Certificate (NSC) or an International Certificate, depending on the chosen curriculum and exit strategy.
    • We offer the Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) system alongside General Educational Development (GED), ensuring that students have a range of qualifications available upon completion.
    • Whether pursuing tertiary education locally or internationally, students are equipped with the necessary skills and qualifications for further studies or entering the workforce.
  • AEE & GED:

    • As part of the AEE (Accelerated Education Enterprises) system, we provide the tools and resources needed for students to excel.
    • The GED (General Educational Development) certificate is accepted by 42 institutions for tertiary studies, allowing students to pursue higher education and career opportunities worldwide.

By offering these diverse educational routes, we empower students to make informed decisions about their future while ensuring they receive a well-rounded, Christian education.

Our Curriculum

AEE (Accelerated Christian Education)

The AEE curriculum offers a personalized, self-paced learning approach that emphasizes academic excellence and character development. Students progress through PACEs (Packets of Accelerated Christian Education) in various subjects, including Mathematics, English, Science, and Social Studies. The AEE curriculum integrates Biblical teachings into each subject, helping students grow academically and spiritually while developing important life skills like discipline and responsibility.

Comprehend Africa

Comprehend Africa is a CAPS-based curriculum designed for learners in Grades 4-9. Available in both online and printed formats, this program combines core subjects with Christian values, promoting mastery in subjects such as Mathematics, English, Social Studies, and Natural Sciences. Comprehend Africa focuses on the holistic development of students, incorporating character-building lessons alongside academic instruction, preparing students for both their academic journey and personal growth.

GED (General Education Diploma)

The GED program offers an alternative path for students who wish to complete their high school education. The GED exam is internationally recognised as a high school leavers equivalent or Grade 12 equivalent! (NQF Level 4) in South Africa. The GED covers core subjects such as Mathematics, English, Science, and Social Studies, providing students with the skills needed for further study, work, or other future opportunities. It is designed for students who may not follow the traditional high school route but still wish to achieve a solid academic foundation.
